The story of Canarian Vibe started with us, Tamara and Jay, two people from different corners of the world brought together while working in Bournemouth, UK. When our time at that company came to an end, we saw an opportunity to turn a challenge into something meaningful.
Combining our skills, experiences, and shared passion for creating moments with others, we decided to start a new chapter in Tenerife, a place bursting with natural beauty, rich culture, and endless inspiration.
So here we are, in a cave in Tenerife — just like the Guanches once were. Well, our cave might be a bit more comfortable these days, but the volcanic energy of this place still flows through it.
We invite you to join our wellness and cultural activities, share in the love and respect for this beautiful piece of the magical island.
Hi everyone! I'm Tamara, from the beautiful Canary Islands. After completing my university studies to become an English teacher, I decided to move to England, and what an adventure it was! I spent 8 amazing years there, living unforgettable experiences and meeting incredible people from all over the world.
Professionally, I started working as a call center agent, and through hard work and dedication, I progressed to become a team leader. In that role, I led coaching sessions, supported the growth of my team, and learned valuable lessons about leadership, empathy, and communication.
During that time, I also followed my passion for health and wellbeing by becoming a qualified personal trainer and nutritional coach. I love helping people feel better in their bodies and minds, while also nurturing my love for training and languages, as a Spanish teacher.
Eventually, I felt the call to return home and reconnect with my roots. So I moved back to Tenerife, to explore deeper my land, but also to begin a deeper inner journey, and since coming back, I’ve been on a path of healing and self-discovery.
I now live in a rural part of the island, in a cave home surrounded by nature, where I grow my own food and live in harmony with the land. This return to simplicity has allowed me to slow down and truly connect with myself.
Over the past year, I’ve been immersing in spiritual practices like meditation, breathwork, yoga, and conscious living, and learning through books, workshops, personal exploration, healing old wounds and discovering new layers of myself along the way.
Now, I’m preparing to become a certified eco-tourism guide, a path that brings together everything I love: nature, culture, wellness, and human connection.
It'll be a joy to welcome you to the island and to share its magic with you. Let’s discover this sacred land together, with curiosity, care, and an open heart.
Hi, I’m João, though most people call me Jay. Originally from Brazil, my passion for travel has taken me across continents, living in Bournemouth in the UK, the sunny Gold Coast of Australia, and now Tenerife.
For as long as I can remember, my life has been shaped by movement, competing as a swimmer for 21 years or helping others achieve their goals as a swimming coach and personal trainer. Along the way, I earned a UK Swimming Coach qualification, a degree in Physical Education in Brazil, which gave me a deep understanding on helping others, physically and mentally.
I’ve done a lot of things from coaching athletes to leading customer service teams. Each job taught me invaluable skills, how to listen, how to lead, how to adapt, and most importantly, how to connect with people and make them feel special!
These experiences, in different fields, and discovering new countries, new cultures, have all contributed to who I am today. They’ve given me the tools to create something truly unique here in Tenerife, blending my creativity, empathy, and a passion for helping others into everything I do.
So, I get to channel everything into these meaningful, and powerful experiences that we've created for others, to feel this beautiful island, and better yet, feel this ancient cave!
I'll be very happy to have you here in Tenerife for a hiking, a cultural picnic or to just relax and chat.
And, by the way, this picture is real, no AI 🤖 it is underwater! It was part of an amazing collaboration with the swimming brand swansuk.co.uk, while I was a swimming coach at Swim Bournemouth.
